My first reaction as I learned about the protagonists relationship with a 36 year old woman was that it was too crazy to be true. She treats him one day after he is suffering symptoms from Hepatitis and many days later he returns to her house and they make love as if they knew each other tremendously well just does not seem real world to me. Nevertheless, I must say that they're relationship does have some aspects that make it look like a true, loving, and loyal interaction between both.
The way the kid reads to her, and his determination to see everyday clearly shows that he likes her very much. It is easier to see his emotions for her than her emotions for him, however, their relationship is a mutual loving relationship. I can tell from part 1 that they both like the presence of each other, and apart from the fights, have a great time together.
As soon as the kid mentions the analogy of the plane gliding down however, I realized that the relationship was coming to an end. With the introduction of Sophie to the story, and Hanna getting stranger and stranger, I knew the end was near. I am eager to see what occurs between the kid and Hanna and the kid and Sophie in the next parts of the book.
