Thursday

Pride and shame have so much control over a person, as shown by Hanna's case. She won't admit to being illiterate because she is ashamed of her "disability", even if it could potentially save her a few years in jail and make her appear to be a better person than she is coming across to be now. This "disability" of hers also puts sense into previous events that occurred and made her appear to be psychotic. She she freaked out about Michael leaving to get breakfast during their vacation, I thought she was just power hungry and wanted to control Michaels every move. Turns out she just couldn't read the note and was too ashamed to explain herself.
However, Hanna IS pretty power hungry and her having been a camp guard kind of fits her personality; although it sounds bad. I'm curious as to whether she missed Michael or not and that's why she got prisoners to read to her or if she just did that with everyone. I'm pretty sure Michael missed her too and wants her back even though he won't admit it to himself and that's why he's always numb; because he'd rather feel nothing. It's just easier. He still analyzed her the way he used to and thinks about their old memories together. I'm curious as to whether or not he will save her by telling the judge she is illiterate.
