This story does not make much sense to me, first off I do not believe that a thirty six year old woman would have sexual intercourse with a fifteen year old boy who just recovered from hepatitis just because he brought her flowers and said thank you and then came back a week later to stalk her outside her home. Such a woman would either have to have a messed up mentality or a psychopathic addiction to pedophilism. There are however some parts that I find very realistic and those do not necessarily outdo the incredulous nature of the first part of the story but it does help to cent the story to reality a bit. It is very believable that the boy may start to lie to his parents and perform at a lower level in school because of his relationship with a girl. This is something that many people can relate to and that is very common among boys his age. It seems a bit odd to me that his lover/rapist is giving him advice on his school work and trying to lecture him on being responsible while she is the one who is committing a disgusting act by taking advantage of such a young child. The situation regarding the fight about what happened on the street car shows perfectly what is wrong with this relationship, it is impossible for both partners to be equal and to feel equally appreciated by the other when there is such a large difference in age especially at such a young age. The strange occurrence with the disappearing note also proves my point that Michael is being abused in this odd and disgusting relationship, Hanna has no right to treat him this way and he should have the balls to assert himself and stand up to her and demand that she treat him right or he will disappear for real. I am especially disturbed by the psychological damage that Hanna is causing to Michael. The fact that he feel guilty about spending time with his friends and that he feel like it is an obligation to see her everyday is wrong and he is too young, naive, and trapped to know that. She goes on to further abuse him psychologically when she disappears for no reason, she leaves him hurt, confused, and heartbroken. This goes to show exactly what I mean when I said that Hanna cannot possibly be a healthy minded person.
